An annual research and development series of Indigenous fashion, textiles and crafts. Our workshops share invaluable Indigenous knowledge, social storytelling and technical skill to push artistic boundaries, promote the creation of new works and stimulate important discussion around culture, tradition and artistic development. Workshops have included hide tanning, moose hair tufting, indigo dyeing, silk screening and roach headdress making. Workshops are open to everyone of any age, gender or culture and full subsidies are available for self-identified young Indigenous women and mother artists (aged 16-35).
This series receives financial support from the Ontario Arts Council, and the support of the local Indigenous, arts and fashion communities.
